XSmall/Small shell wrist warmers.

A quick and simple pair of shell patterned wrist warmers that can be adapted to suit any size. Patterns can be found on my blog Sonia Jones Crafts. If there is a video tutorial it can be found on my YouTube channel at Sonia Jones Crafty Life.

Terms used in this pattern.

SC = Single Crochet into the middle stitch of the previous rounds Shell

DC = Double Crochet

SL ST = Slip Stitch

SK x = Skip x Stitches

Ch = Chain

Shell 5 = 5 DC in the previous rounds SC

Shell 3 = 3 DC in the previous rounds SC

Inc shell = 7 DC in the previous rounds SC

Notes

The start of each round is made in the last SC of the previous round.

The first Shell of each round will start with a chain 3 and then 4DC for Shell 5/2DC for Shell 3.

Rounds in bold have multiple rounds.

These wrist warmers are made from the wrist down to your fingers. To make them longer so more of your arm is covered just do more of the Shell 5 rounds before moving on to wrist shaping.

If you like a baggy wrist skip the Shell 3 shaping rounds and just do more Shell 5 rounds.

I use a chainless foundation start if you want to start with a chain instead add one extra stitch for a turning chain, join to work in the round and then do a SC round before starting the Shell 5 rounds.

Wristwarmers

36 chainless foundation SC stitches. (36)

Round 1: Pattern set up round. *Shell 5, SK 2, SC, SK 2* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (6 Shells, 6 SCs)

Round 2 - 6: *Shell 5, SC* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (6 Shell 5s, 6 SCs)

Round 7 - 10: *Shell 3, SC* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (6 Shell 3s, 6 SCs)

Round 11: Increase row Inc Shell, SC, *Shell 5, SC* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (1 Inc Shell, 5 Shell 5s, 6 SCs)

Round 12: *Shell 5, SC into the 2^nd DC, Shell 3 into the 4^th DC, SC into the 6^th DC, *Shell 5, SC* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3.  (6 Shell 5s, 1 Shell 3, 7 SCs)

Round 13: *Shell 5, SC* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (7 Shell 5s, 7 SCs) Take care not to miss the extra SCs either side of the Shell 3.

Round 14 - 18: *Shell 5, SC* repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (7 Shell 5s, 7 SC)

Round 19: Skip Round for thumb hole *Shell 5, SC,* x4, Shell 5, [ 5 Shell 5s, 4 SCs before skipping.] SK Shell, SK SC, SK Shell, Chain 1, Shell 5, SL ST into top of ch 3. (6 Shell 5s, 5 SCs)

Round 20 - 22: *Shell 5, SC* Repeat around, SL ST into the top of ch 3. (6 Shell 5s, 6 SCs) Shell 5 over the ch 1 from the previous round on round 20.
